Andy Roddick ... rises in the ATP rankings despite being retired. Source: Charles Krupa / AP
Former US tennis ace Andy Roddick's ranking rose two spots in the latest ATP world rankings, despite retiring six months ago.
Roddick jumped from No.42 in the world to No.40 this week, despite quitting the game in September, as the often criticised ranking system threw up another anomaly.
With ATP rankings taking results from the previous 52 weeks into account, Roddick is still living large off his first half of 2012, where he posted some solid results before calling it a day at the US Open.
And when Victor Troicki and Nikolay Davydenko were beaten at the Rotterdam Open earlier than they exited last year, they quickly dipped below Roddick.
Troicki dropped from 40 to 42, while Davydenko's ranking took a big hit, falling from 37 to 43.
