Geale v Mundine III isn't on Daniel Geale's radar.

Not only that, the IBF middleweight champion declared a third bout with Anthony Mundine would represent a backward step in his career.

Rather, Geale is eyeing a mandatory title defence against fellow Aussie Sam Soliman - on a path he hopes eventually leads to a fight with WBC champion Sergio Martinez.

As for Mundine, Geale says he has nothing left to prove, taunting the former rugby league star by declaring a third fight would be easier than his crushing points victory last month.

"That's not on my radar at all," Geale said of fighting Mundine.

"I can see what he's doing, I can see why he's doing it but, at this stage, it doesn't really interest me.

"We were very keen to show people how things have changed, If we fight again, I believe it's going to be even better and I think he knows that.

"I was coming home even stronger in the last couple of rounds so, if we did fight again, I think it'd be easy for me."

As for whether another Mundine fight would represent a step back in his career, Geale said:

"Definitely - I mean it's not going to help me.

"On a world stage, that's not the right fight for me.

"We're looking at making sure I make statements around the world."

A first statement would be a mandatory defence of his IBF title against Soliman in May or June.

"We believe it's probably the right move. It gives me another nine months to chase the other big name guys that we want," Geale said.

"We don't want to do anything that's going to put me in a position where I might lose my title by not being able to fight my mandatory so we're going to get that out of the way."

Then it seems the world could be Geale's oyster, with the likes of WBA champion Gennady Golovkin and Martin Murray in his sights.

But it's a bout with Argentine Martinez that Geale is truly craving.

"Most people say he's the No.1 around the world and most of the rankings say he's No.1 so he's the man that I want," Geale said.

"I want to be in that No.1 spot and I'm going to keep working harder until I get it.

"He's probably booked in to fight Murray in April so, depending on how that fight goes, we'll be chasing hard to get the fight after that.

"I believe an IBF-WBC unification bout will be huge."
