CHAMPION three-year-old filly Guelph led throughout to take out the Thousand Guineas (1600m) to continue the winning streak of the Darley and the Peter Snowden team - giving them their third Group 1 win for the week.
In a change of tactics Guelph, ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, took the front early in the race and controlled the three-year-old fillies race from there.
Snowden said they decided to go to the front as they knew she could run out a strong mile.
Guelph has won seven of her 10 starts. Snowden said they would make a decision as to whether she will contest the Cox Plate, The Myer Classic or go for a spell in the next two days.
Guelph ($1.40 fav) held off a late challenge to defeat May's Dream and with the David Hayes-trained Gregers finishing third.
