SOCCEROOS coach Holger Osieck has released Nathan Coe and Connor Pain from East Asian Cup duty to allow them to play for Melbourne Victory against English Premier League side Liverpool at the MCG on Wednesday night.

Goalkeeper Coe and midfielder Pain took no part in the Socceroos' 0-0 draw with South Korea last (Saturday) night.

The pair will return to Seoul on Thursday but neither will be available for the Socceroos' clash that night against Japan in Hwaseong.

However, they will be considered for Australia's battle with China in Seoul next Sunday night.

Meanwhile, playmaker Dario Vidosic will be fit for the Socceroos' clash against Japan despite suffering a foot injury against South Korea.

"It's nothing too serious, it's just a little bit of bruising in the side of the foot, so it a little bit sore at the moment," Vidosic said.
