The last time Roger Federer missed a grand slam quarter-final iTunes had just launched with 200,000 songs at 99 cents each.
Overnight the world gasped when Federer went down in four sets to world No. 116 Sergiy Stakhovsky at Wimbledon.
The 31-year-old perished 6-7 (5) 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 7-6 (8-6) - his earliest defeat at Wimbledon since 2002.
The last time Federer failed to make a quarter-final was in 2003 when he dropped out of the French Open with a 6–7(6–8), 2–6, 6–7(3–7) defeat to Peru's Luis Horna.
It was so long ago that this is was was going on at the time.
