Tennis Australia has awarded the final discretionary Australian Open wildcard entries to James Duckworth, John-Patrick (JP) Smith, Sacha Jones and Jarmila Gajdosova.
Sydneysider Duckworth, 20, who made his grand slam debt at Melbourne Park last year ranked No.275 in the world, climbed to a career-high of 167 in May and is currently ranked 209.
"I had a great experience playing at the Australian Open last year and I'm hoping this year to win a few matches again," Duckworth said.
He won his opening match last year and took the opening set off current world No.9 Janko Tipsarevic in their second round clash, before going down to the Serb in four sets.
Joining Duckworth in the men's singles will be debutant JP Smith, a 23-year-old who broke into the world's top 300 last year with victory at the ITF Futures event in Florida in April and the ATP Challenger Tour event in Illinois in July.
"It's a great privilege to play in the Australian Open, my favourite grand slam, and something I have grown up dreaming about," said Smith, currently ranked No.244.
Sacha Jones also had a successful 2012, the 22 year-old winning in Port Pirie and Cairns plus claiming the ITF title in Kristinehamn, Sweden, to crack the top 200.
"It's my dream to play in the main draw of a grand slam and to have that opportunity here in Melbourne is just amazing," said the current world No.173.
Jarmila Gajdosova will play her eighth straight Australian Open from January 14.
The 25-year-old Melbourne local was ranked inside the worlds top 50 in 2011 and now sits at No.183.
Gajdosova will next compete the Hobart International, where she meets Romina Oprandi in the first round.
"I love competing at home. I've just played in Brisbane and I'm now in Hobart so I feel like my preparation is coming along nicely."
Gajdosova won the Hobart title in 2011.
