Casey Stoner showed us once again that fairytale finishes do happen, the Aussie signing off on his final MotoGP race on home soil with his sixth-straight win, as Jorge Lorenzo wraps up the 2012 MotoGP title.
Stoner capped off a dominant weekend with another dominant performance, finishing nine seconds ahead of Lorenzo, with Briton Cal Crutchlow completing the podium in third.
However the day was a disaster for title contender Dani Pedrosa, an early lead turning to dust at Honda Corner on lap three with the Spaniard crashing.
The accident handed a lead he wouldn't lose to Stoner, while Lorenzo tried to give chase but, with the title in his pocket, elected to take the points for second.
